Marks obtained by the Candidate from Paper-1 and Paper-7 only will
be taken into Account for merit ranking; however the Commission will have the
discretion to fix qualifying marks in any of these papers.
UPSC Interview Syllabus
The
main objective of the interview test is to access the personal suitability of
the candidate for the services by board of competitors and unbiased observers,
where they test the mental calibre of the candidate, assessment of the
intellectual qualities, and his interest and knowledge on current affairs and
happens of the world issues

Note:
Changes to UPSC Syllabus
- 1 Mostly there will be no changes in the syllabus of prelims and mains until unless specified by UPSC board
- 2 Any changes in the syllabus will be given in the Official
Notification that is published before the conduct of exam.
- 3 Also follow up the news items for any issues and controversy that
revolve around the syllabus.
- 4 Even the changes in the syllabus can happen within few days of
commencement of exams.
- 5 There are incidents that the changes in the syllabus happened just
before few days of the examination
- 6 2015 Prelims CSAT paper
making the CSAT just a Qualifying paper rather than ranking paper. So anything
can happen.
