GATE/PSU (2020) Entrance Exam

GATE is the main qualifying test to get admission into master degree. GATE has been the main eligibility criteria for recruiting candidates into PSU’s.

Every year GATE is conducted once, GATE 2019 application process started on September 2018 and for upcoming GATE exam refer year calendar as listed below

This year the responsibility of conducting GATE is taken by IIT, Madras. GATE offers admissions into M.tech/M.sc/P.hD into engineering.

Every year IIT’s Conduct GATE Exam for admission of candidates into master degree based on the performance of GATE Score, from the year 2012 PSU (Public sector units) which are governed and controlled by government are recruiting candidates based on the performance of GATE Score. GATE is eligibility Criteria for PSU Recruitment through GATE Exam.

Eligibility

1. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology 4yeras course (10 + 2) or 3 years after completion of diploma in engineering technology.
2. Final year studying students can also apply for the GATE
3. Candidates with Qualifications obtained by professional bodies which are recognised by AICTE/UPSC etc

Exam Pattern

1. No of questions: 65
2. Maximum marks for the exam: 100 marks
3. Exam duration: 3 hours
4. Exam Sections: General and subjective sections
5. Negative mark of 1/3^rd  for each wrong answer

Exam Date

Conducted in the month of February (2^nd, 3^rd, 9^th, 10^th closed) and the result has been released 19^th March, 2019

Counselling details

For the year 2019 GATE Counselling will start from 5^th of April 2019.
