Part V article 53 of Indian constitution states that President is the Executive power of the Union

The President is the Supreme commandant of armed forces of India

President can declare war or conclude peace on the advice of council of ministers headed by Prime Minister of India; however parliament can restrict this power of president

He makes appointments to important positions of armed forces, appoints chiefs of Army, Navy and Air Forces

Regarding the operation and the authority over nuclear mission is under confidential secrets of government of India, much more information about this and president’s role in this aspect is not known to general public
